Remediation progress positive - more work required

Positive progress has been made in resolving outstanding issues with Novopay under the Remediation Plan - but the system is not out of the woods yet, Minister Responsible for Novopay Steven Joyce says. The Remediation Plan was established in February this year with Cabinet agreeing to put aside up to $5 million to help deliver stable pay periods, clear the backlog of outstanding pay issues through the Backlog Clearance Unit (BCU), and resolve system bugs and defects. ... 
Minister Responsible for Novopay Steven Joyce today released the reports on complaints and notifications in regards to Pay Periods 6, 7 and 8 of the schools’ payroll. Pay Period 6, which was paid on the morning of 12 June, paid 89,061 people a total of $173.96 million. The report shows that complaints and notifications were received regarding 0.30 per cent of staff across the country, 21 staff were notified as not paid, 109 were overpaid, and 140 underpaid. Affected staff were from 197 schools or 8.0 per cent of schools in the payroll system. ... 

 Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye today announced a $10 million investment in new buildings for 26 schools around New Zealand.
